So this is my first election that i have voted in today. I will have many more then this...so i figured out that if i live to the age of 90 i will vote in presidental election 18 times. so i can change the president who runs this country 18 times. WOW what a responsiblity.
so this is may election story....
I went to bed at 12 midnight and woke up at 600am, brushed teeth, grabbed ID, voter registration card, drivers license and a book to read. I was the first one there in line and about 15 other people were there by the time it opened at 630am. In athens, oh we don't have electronic voting machines, it is the punch card one. i went through and voted for people i liked (*cough* kerry *cough*). i arrived back at my dorm at 7 am and went right to sleep. I woke up at 900am to go the class.
As i know my mother, father, brother justin, brother matthew, and i all voted. this is the first time that we all as a family voted in an election.
We will all see tonight(hopefully) who is the president for the next four years. i am proud to live in texas but i have heared what he did to our state and now to our country and i just don't like bush for his ideas(gay marriage) and policies(draft and no child left behind(doesn't cover enough and children are still left behind like homeless children who can't enter a school without a permanent address and other stuff) and loss of jobs(companies closing and moving overseas to pay less money for workers) and the war(which i know 2 people over in Iraq) and the gap of socioenconmic is getting bigger(richer are getting richer and poorer is getting poorer, and poorer people can't afford to live on minimum wage...don't believe it read "Nickel and Dime") and many more things i don't like.
i know that people have their own opinion but this is mine.
