Work

My life right now has consisted of work. I am working on ceramics which has taken a lot of time and effort. Sometimes I don't even want to go into Seigfred (art building) because I have been there so much. I also have tried to kept up my reading in both Baroque/Rococo and Islamic Art history. I have quite a bit of reading to do most weeks. I have also tried to get prepared for the final papers/projects in these classes. In the Baroque/Rococo class we have to write a paper, so I have gone ahead and check out a few books and looked through them. In the Islamic class we have to interview two people from an Islamic culture. I interviewed two people already and I have to interview a third because the second one didn't help me out as much and I couldn't find art pieces or monuments on what his answers he provided me. The other class I am in is broomball which you all have seen the bruise on my right knee. So nothing much to say there.

In all of the regular school work, I have tried to search for a job. I am terrified of interviews even if they are fake ones. I think there are people who are bad test takers and there are people who are bad interviewers. I am a bad interviewer, I can't even think about an interview because I feel like I am going to have a heart attack, I get sweaty palms, I feel like I can't breathe, and I just want to run away. The problems I am facing right now in the impending career fair coming up on Feb. 5th. I seriously don't want to go/attend/talk to anyone. I am going to have to fake myself out, get through it, and then go home and weep like a baby or take a nap before my class at 3 that day. I just wish I could eliminate that fear and get through it smoothly. I just don't know.

no need to post comments if you don't want to...just trying to let out the fear by talking about it. I think I have to go out next weekend and talk with random people. Maybe that with help, but the difference is that I won't be seeing them ever again and it is in an informal setting rather than a professional one. hmmm, who knows.

p.s. I am also working on trying to take pictures and make an digital portfolio. If anyone has a suggestion to make it look good, or a program I could use, or make it go faster than it is....write me a comment.

re: Digital portfolio. Take pictures/scans of everything, then use viovio.com and Justin's help to get a book created. Add titles to each photo as to what class, and what the photo is was about. Remember to leave a book with each interviewer and they will be very impressed. Oh, and on the first page of the book put your name and resume. (oh, and hint, hint, double check your spelling - mistakes will leave the wrong impression). Don't worry about the cost. I'll pay for it.
