I didn't even know...
I didn't even know there was a winner for roman this week. I finished and posted first. This week we had to make a crossword puzzle for our chapters 12 and 13. so i did because i didn't want to do my other homework i had.
so today my day of hell class which is from 9-3...which wasn't all that bad because we got out at 12 or so today. So after 1 or 2 errands i went to the library on 3rd floor(my heaven...it is where the fine art place is located and not a lot of people are here). I decided to check my email because this morning didn't...so hey why not, right? so this is the email i received from my Roman art history professor:

I am very pleased with all your puzzles. I can see that some of you spent good time looking for challenging terms to include. It makes their puzzles more fun to solve. I know it was probably the first time for most of you but now you know how to build your own puzzles in any subject. I truly enjoyed reading your comments and how you helped each other correcting and editing the puzzles. Good team work.

EEKKKKK!!!!
I'M SOOOOO HAPPY!!! OH MY I THINK I AM GOING TO BURST....okay back story to my excitement:
So I am taking this online roman class and this week our professor stated "Search the internet, the library, or text book and find a special tomb, Mausoleum, pyramid or other burial structure built and used by the Romans before 337 CE (NOT CHRISTIAN TOMB). Describe it and introduce the deceased and his position, and attach a picture of it if possible." (This is only a portion of what was due this week)
We were suppose to discuss it and give the best description and why what we pick was the best (what I posted online is below). Then after we posted we were suppose to review the other classmates choices and vote on what one we think was the best and why. We couldn't vote for ourselves. If you got voted for enough we would "not have to participate in next week's discussion and will earn the one point reserved for the discussion without participating."
Now you are probably wondering why I am so happy. I wasn't at all at first. I was lucky on certain things, I was second to post(which was good so I didn't repeat anyone) and a girl had the same pyramid I did and posted it 34 seconds after me(so close for her, but not close enough). I was happy that people responded to this choice because on 2 other discussions they didn't response. I chose to do my selection on the Pyramid of Cestius . Then when people responded with questions I tried to answer them to the best of my knowledge and research. I was getting votes, but most were going to the Bakers Tomb aka Eurysaces Tomb. So I though humph, this kinda of stinks, but ohh well the other person did very well. I voted for her.
So I had to do a few more things before I shut down my computer tonight and one thing was to check my email. This is what I found:

The tomb’s discussion and voting are over. Many of you agreed that Allison’s baker’s tomb is the winner. Daniel who discussed the same tomb is not because Allison was the first to post this tomb. It was indeed a good choice but I have some concern about giving her the title of Gladiator of the Tomb. Allison did not check back after posting her masterpiece to answer questions and apparently was not interested in discussing it further. For this lack of interest, I will crown Kathryn Watt as the Gladiator of the Tomb because of her responses, questions, and dedication to the discussion.. I was also pleased with the enthusiasm of Edward Muldoon who gave an excellent description of Hadrian’s and participated and voted effectively. Therefore, we have three winners for this discussion and Allison, Kathryn, and Edward are exempted from Discussion 4.

The Tomb of Caius Cestius stands out from other Roman architecture because it is in the shape of a Pyramid. It was created by concrete bricks covered with marble slabs and stands 36 meters high, which is 118 feet or 39 yards high. It states on the side of the Pyramid that it was completed in 330 days. Within Caius Cestius will, it stated that the pyramid was to be constructed in his honor. It was constructed by his heirs, Lucius Pontus Mela, Publius’s son and freedman Pothus.
When Rome conquered Egypt in 30 BCE, 15 years earlier, the Egyptian art inspired the Romans. This Pyramid uses the idea of the Egyptian Pyramids, invention of concrete by the Romans, and Greeks fascination with marble. Also, inside the Pyramid there is a burial chamber with the third style of painting on the walls. The inside cannot be reached from the outside; the only time it was excavated was in 1660 by orders of Pope Alexander VII. When the burial chamber was discovered, it stated on Wikipedia, that “there was no trace left of any other contents in the tomb, which had been plundered in antiquity. The tomb had been sealed when it was built, with no exterior entrance.” I don’t know if Caius Centius is buried inside, but with no exterior entrances I would assume so. Caius Cestus worked as a “praetor (an elected magistrate) and member of a group of priests responsible for sacred banquets” (aviewoncities.com). This is the best burial structure because it stands out from the other arches, mausoleums, and other funerary structures. It also uses the art influences from the Egyptians, the Greeks, and even they themselves(Romans).

I'm tired
i am trying to read and i keep trying to not fall asleep. i might have to walk home and take a nap.

Why is it so hard to be motivated?
I am having trouble getting motivated. I sit and can do million and one things on the computer and i can watch thousand minutes of television, but when it comes to reading art history it is the last thing on my list. It isn't like i have a long list of things to do, but i put it off until i have to kill myself waking up early and staying up late. i think that whatever i have to do in my line of work i have to be on a computer or be able to do something watching television/movie. i think that is why i like my art classes i can watch television/movies and create something in the process, but with reading art history i have to focus on the readings. what a bore.
right now i am tired, have a headache, and i have a million and one things to read. *sigh* i just don't know what to do. it is like a catch 22. if i don't read this articles then i fail the class. if i read these articles it is torturous to get through. i guess i should get off here and read. ohh what fun.
there are some moments in life you want to be out of school this is mine because i would think the weekend would belong to me. i could do what i want and what i have fun doing. here school is implemented into my weekend and every aspect of it. then i think i have to support myself and that turns me off of wanting to be in the real world. ohh well what can you do.
well wish me luck...on to my reading. fun. :/

I am getting desparate...

what to do, what to do
I know I should be focused on my Roman Art History class, but I can take a few minutes away from homework to write this up.
(about the up and coming weekend)
So I know my homework is important, but also to have fun and be a student because sooner or later I will be in the real world. So I asked these girls what they do on the weekend thinking maybe they did something and low-and-behold they watch movies and hang out in their rooms. Ohhhh jeezs. I guess that won't work. I need to get out of my room. Now I know my brother justin had a game night of sorts with friends, but there isn't something like that here. I could do homework until like 9 or 10 and go to a bar (by my lonesome self) and buy myself a drink and what?!? stare at the wall or television. it doesn't sound fun. So I guess I will be in my room and maybe I will buy beer at the grocery store and drink it in my room by myself because I would do the same thing at the bar...Ohh my gosh, what do yah know...

Well officially classes started today, but I don't have classes on Tuesday and Thursday. So my classes start tomorrow and it is going to be a long day 1-3 and 6-10...woo-wee I will be rolling into bed right when I get home.

Back in the Grind
Back at school which has come with some ups and downs...
I have no friends right now because they all graduated last year and kim who is the only 5th year with me is in Denmark this quarter...bad(it makes me feel lonely)
I am located on the 1st floor(all building on South have a ground floor and then living is 1 and up)...somewhat bad (I am a light sleeper)
I have a parking space and can look out to my car...good
I have a weird refrigerator that makes a weird noise(on and off)...somewhat bad (when I am in bed I don't here it, but other than that I hear it)
I am already stressed about classes and they haven't started yet...somewhat bad (once it starts and I get into a groove it will get better...maybe)
other than the ups and downs...I am a little bored but taking in the slow moments because come Tuesday it will speed up quickly.
