Mont St. Michel

This is a Monastery which has 6 monks and 6 nuns living here. It is out in the middle of nowhere.


But what a sight.




I am here. So EX-CIT-ED!!!


The view from the top. This parking area will be destroyed once they constructed a bridge to allow to water to flow freely. Parking will be closer to town and their will be a shuttle to take you here. They are doing this because they believe the area with the monastery is sinking due to the blockage with the water so not all the impurities are cleaning itself out. It has also changed the landscape and with this change in 30 years all should be back the way it originally was.


This is an identical island that the Mont St. Michel was built on. Also you can walk to the other island, but only with a guide. The reason being that area is quick sand and people still die today. ou can see the group walking back from the island. They are very small dots right above the tree in the middle.


The inside was pretty plain, but there was a few nice spots. The views were spectacular and just seeing the place itself was great.


As I made my loop we came across a little street here that has plenty of shops. This was the only place in my whole trip I received mosquito bites. Ahh those bugs.
